Dissolution refers to a just dismissed Parliament. Riding is a U.K expression for a parliamentary constituency roughly equivalent to an American congressional district.

Actually, Riding seems to be a mostly Canadian term. The British refer to them as Constituencies.

Riding in the UK means a sub-division of a county i.e. the county of Yorkshire is split into the East Riding, North Riding and West Riding.

The equivalent of a Canadian riding and a U.S. congressional district in the UK is a parliamentary constituency.
