A pro-abort told me that the courts did not rule that the fetus is NOT an unborn baby . It ruled that the fetus was not viable, hence the mother's right to "privacy" trumped the baby's right to live.
Is this true that the court made it's decision partly because of viability?
"Congratulations to new Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. Here's hoping you get a chance to reverse this Constitutional travesty."
This is so wonderful!!
My hunch is that President Bush will get to pick one or two more. A couple of them are really up there in years.
Killing has nothing to do with privacy, and when we get five Constructionalist justices, they will interpret the Constitution honestly.
Justice Rehnquist did a fantastic job of showing how Roe was unconstitutional in his dissent.
Even a good number of pro-"choice" people said the Roe was unconstitutional. Here's one of many examples:
Richard Cohen Washington Post
[T]he very basis of the Roe v. Wade decision the one that grounds abortion rights in the Constitution strikes many people now as faintly ridiculous. Whatever abortion may be, it cannot simply be a matter of privacy.
And just how many children are aborted in China when women are allowed to birth only one child?
BUMP!
It was reported that Justice Ginsburg fell asleep on the job - time for her to retire.
And we need at least one more Constructionalist on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Here's the story about Justice Ginsburg's snooze:

there already is a movement afooot among Xers and Millennials to deny Boomers Social Security in their old age.
An assessment of the role of Roe in the 2008 presidential election
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
It will not only be Western Civilization, but all nations. Legalized abortion will be among the reasons for justification of the Great Tribulation. Ever ask God why He would send such woe to the earth?
Revelation 9:20
The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and woodidols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Warren Burger died with a Rosary in his hands (he was not a Catholic, but a family member was), very penitent for his vote in favor of Roe v. Wade. Don’t ask me how, but he thought Roe would reduce abortions.
A perfect example of the insanity of the "legal mind" which varies in intensity but never in form. It battles constantly against logic and the philosophy of morality, imposing its murderous idiocy on a powerless society.
