I saved that pic to my hd so I can make up the new Baldacci campaign poster.
Which one? The one of Baldy with Castro?
What usually happens is the those sitting in power when a bill such as this is passed, don't receive the benefits of it. it is a pale attempt to keep people from reaping the profits of their own legislation.
Of course if they are re-elected, then they/he would get the raise.
That's what "I" thought. If the bill is passed and Baldacci is voted in again (heaven forbid), then he would get the raise. Why would that raise just sit in limbo? One man here said that Baldacci wouldn't get the raise, no matter what. ~sigh
Unfortunately, I don't see anyone on the horizon that can defeat Baldy. I would hope that the stupid legislature would be smart enough to kill this bill.

I just read this morning but can't find the article now........that some woman switched from Democrat to Independent and she wants to run against Baldacci. Wish I could find that article.
The Zombie is a vile communist, as far as I'm concerned. But of course he will be re-elected-the majority of voters in the state(not people like you, She) are just like the ones in the other 'blue' states...sheep-to be sheared.
That would be Barbara MERRILL.
Another significant factor is the Dem. machine's talent for stealing elections; you know, the Post Office's penchant for delaying until the polls close (or "losing") absentee ballotts bearing registered Republican's return addresses (which may also be found on Voter Registration lists) or College Students patrolling around on Election Day voting 25 or 30 times each, Ballotts being "counted" in the basement of City Hall in a locked room with the windows covered over by partisan hacks - that sort of thing.
Witnesses are reluctant to go public with it as they fear (and justifiably so) loss of their jobs or other forms of union retaliation if they do.
Besides, it is unlikely that voter fraud cases against Dems would ever be prosecuted in this State.
And we are told by those who have been paying attention for much longer than I have that it's been going on with total impunity for years.
We currently have ten gubenatorial Candidates, apparently.
At least two of the Republicans strike me as being at least generally viable, and Rep. Merrill seems to be very bright and personable, and I think that she will appeal to a number of more fiscally conservative, socially liberal voters.
It ought to be interesting.
