That photo speaks volumes. We have seen it before but it always invites reflection. It is a photo of the law corrupted, of power gone mad. It is a photo of the Good Samaritan, but with a different ending -- the Good Samaritan is called evil, and arrested, and led away in handcuffs. We have many hospitals and churches in America named for the Good Samaritan, but in Pinellas County, he is reviled and arrested.

A child! A 10-year-old Good Samaritan in handcuffs! "But Jesus said, 'Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' And He laid [his] hands on them..." Compare that scene with this one, as Van Dyck conceived it (early 17th C.):
