My 'See. You don't understand' was just a weak attempt at sarcasm.

Actually, I thought it was O'Connor that wrote a scathing dissent of Kelo.

Once Souter has been evicted, perhaps he can find a new home in the region he wants to pull legal precidence from, outside the U.S. F'n bastard...

"EVICT Souter than later."

Nice play on words.

I like that.

I wonder if people in NH hold Souter in the same popularity as the WV people do Robert C. Byrd?

It's real simple--GHWB suffered from the same fatal disease that will probably cost the Republicans the election this fall--wanting to be bipartisan.

The Democrats aren't bipartisan. Why do the Republicans need to be?

I wonder too. Until the Kelo decision, I have heard no one in NH ever refer to Souter in anyway. Following the Kelo decision, and the MEDIA attention foucsed on SJ Souter, there seems to be a hell of a lot of American flags waving in Weare, NH. I take that as a positive, collective statement of protest from the people.

I think it's calleld the Rodney King Syndrome, when attention-starved Republicans duplicate the Democrat agenda to win ostensible Democrat support, which never somehow seems to materialize any way. It may also have to do with the fact that many Americans, including Republicans, do not know the difference between "a democracy" and "representative republic."

"I'd like to ask GHWB just one question: 'What were you thinking?'"

As a RINO and weak-kneed "compassionate conservative," he was trying his best to maintain an ideological equilibrium within the SC, instead of promoting the conservative agenda.

I won't mention the Skull and Bones or New World Order angle ;-)

I was very angry at GW for not using the bully pulpit to harangue SCOTUS for the Kelo travesty.

But later I read he did come forth (months later) and express his regret that it happened. But then this response was muted in the media.

We can hope Roberts and Alito will influence SCOTUS to reconsider Kelo and a host of other things.

The Kelo decision has allowed the rich to steal property and homes from the poor working class American citizens.

Don't forget the scumbags in New London who elected the city government that started this mess. If people are not responsible for their votes, why vote?

"Most people here see this as an act of revenge and an improper attack on the judicial system," Kurk said. "You don't go after a judge personally because you disagree with his judgments."

Since when?

I'd like to ask GHWB just one question: "What were you thinking?"

That social conservatives could be royally screwed at will by the establishment of the G.O.P.

The six unjust Supreme Court judges and not American patriots, they are communists. The Kelo decision has allowed the rich to steal property and homes from the poor working class American citizens.

I agree with that. However, I don't agree with the remedy you suggested. There are better ways, like making the Congress restrict the Supreme Court's jurisdiction and legally pursuing the permanent removal of anti-Constitution justices.
