You surely have better things to do.

You are right, and I'd rather stay on good terms with my conservative Mormon friends.

It's hard because I really like to discuss the LDS history that all my ancestry on all sides were so much a part of.

I am sure we all like to discuss Church history or any other history. It is when the attacks are disguised as "discussions" and there gets to be a lot of name calling and bitterness that it becomes a pain.

There are several good accounts of the history and they are taught to the High School aged kids so they will know what happened.

We live in Fremont County, Wyoming. The Oregon Trail, Mormon Trail and Pony Express route (Which are the same trail through here.) passes through South Pass, which is in the Southern part of the County.

There are a lot of historical things that took place there.

It is interesting to go and drive over the trail and try to imagine some of the things that took place.
