The left cannot compete in the marketplace of ideas. They are completely bankrupt in morals and rational thought.

To them, 'fairness' is being able to counter Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, et. al. with FREE equal time, either paid by the aforementioned or the stations. No way can they create a program that will pay for itself, let alone make a profit.

The left does not want to counter Limbaugh, Hannity, Larry Elder, et al.; they want to silence them, once and for all. The "Fairness" Doctrine is predicated on the fact that radio stations simply cannot afford to give away three or six hours of air time per day to allow some leftist to counter Rush and/or Hannity (or any other one or two hosts that they play). And since they cannot afford it, and since they cannot afford to litigate against the federal government, the program managers at the stations will "solve" the problem by pulling the plug on the conservative hosts.

No more Rush. No more any person whom the left finds the least bit objectionable. And all of us are back to getting our news and information from the "objective" mainstream media, because once they win the radio battle, the left will push hard to either extend some version of the "Fairness" Doctrine to the internet, or they'll just pass legislatiuon that labels all sites that publish material they objects to as "hate sites" and shut them down that way.
