Should atheists be welcomed into the conservative movement? Do atheists make good conservatives?

If you were to answer no to that question. Then would you be willing to accept the Taliban ? After all they are conservative.

Assuming you're right about the Taliban's conservative nature, what are they conserving?  Not American values.  That alone separates them out of the question, does it not?

To my thinking, the Taliban are at least as much totalitarian as they are religious.  Our Conservatism, being pro-God, strives to be tolerant of other religious beliefs.  The Taliban do not share that value.
