Yes. I found a website with a calendar calculator: CalendarHome.com. It gives you the number of days between dates. From 20 December 2005 to 20 January 2006 (Friday) is 31 days. So even if you don't count the first day, the 30 days expired on Friday. It's all over.
The 30 day expired on Friday and if the defendants didn't file a Notice of Appeal it's over. But if it was filed at, say, 4:00 p.m. on Friday, it won't show up on the record on Friday.
It usually takes a day or two. The actual piece of paper gets stamped and put onto a pile and the recording clerk goes through the pile and manually logs them in when she gets to them.
That's why I said wait a day or two and check again.
