Why are there still monkeys!?"
I read an article saying that several million yrs. ago, chimps (our closest relatives) lived in central Africa. A drought forced them to make major changes, remain as tree dwellers or move out into the nearly treeless savannah. The ones who chose the savannah, eventually began to walk upright, on took on more early human characteristics. This, the author states, debunks the theory of a 'missing link'. Just thought I would throw that in as food for thought. Personally, I see evolution as a tool of our Lord.

I've seen several posts from creationists complaining that the article contains expressions like "may have," "could have," "thought to be," etc. Post 184 is typical of these, although
post 135 is a classic. I don't know what's bothering those folks. Would they prefer that scientists write in the divinely authoritarian style of Genesis?
But even as these "imperative vs. subjunctive" criticisms abound, presumably to point out the "weakness" of science, how many times have we seen anti-science posters complaining that evolution is being taught as fact when "it's only a theory?"
