I've wondered about that too. I've never gotten the full brief on why KVI lost Rush in the first place, though. Do you know the inside scoop on that?

Carlson (who recently signed a new deal with Fisher) I have no clue what radio guys make. Have a ballpark figure?

It still seems to me to be a silly move. KTTH has nowhere near the community support that KVI has. I have thought it might have been the Medved connection, but that has never been substantiated.

I have no clue what radio guys make. Have a ballpark figure? Sorry to be dense...but it's gotta be in the low 6-figures for a market like Seattle. You also have to figure in commercial royalties and public appearance fees.
On the TV side...it was published a few years ago that Jean Enersen (KING5) was making upwards of $500K ($500K-$650K)...so you gotta benchmark from there.

I think the point is that if I tune into KVI during the morning drive time, I get to hear Kirby talk about issue X. Then when I return home from work and listen to Carlson, I'm still hearing about issue X. And sense they both have similar POVs, I'm not hearing anything new.
Apparently it doesn't appear to be a problem since KVI still dominates in the ratings, but I had that experience quite often when commuting between Everett and Seattle and back. Fortunately at the time Pat Cashman was on KOMO in the mornings, so I could get a little bit of good humor on my way in to work.

I agree...but you have to take into account host egos...they each think they have a "unique" take. If it's a big topic, they think no one can cover it like they can.
I still have to emphasize, however, that momentum builds on a topic during the day. The folks that don't get to expound in the AM will be the first ones on the phone in the PM.
Also...the audiences are not as similar as you might think.

Personally I find Schram to be a grating loud mouth and turn him off when his is on Carlson's show. His style of personal attack is just so typical liberal.
