Now its a $150 per ticket for a big-name band. We use to see shows for $10. And the music WAS the thing and always will be to guys like us.

Paid $6.50 to see Jefferson Airplane. I'm a little fuzzy on the exact year, only sure it was before '70.

By the time prices were getting over $10, a lot of the music was heading south anyway.

TEN dollars for a show?
Hell,I saw Jefferson Airplane,Muddy Waters AND the Grateful Dead for the grand total of THREE dollars at Winterland in 1966.Two sets each.
I really grumbled when I had to pay the trememdous sum of EIGHT dollars for The Stones at Winterland in 1972.The opening act was Stevie Wonder!

Same here. Is there rock music anymore? I've despised popular music for many years now, except maybe the Talking Heads. "Psycho killer Qu’est que c’est"
