A couple of obscure one-hit wonders that can be cranked up loud are The Call Let The Day Begin, and The Smithereens A Girl Like You, or Streetheart's cover of a Van Morrison song Here Comes The Night.

Actually those three are mid-1980's tunes, but they have good guitar riff's. :)

I haven't reviewed the list, but it's heartening to see the Rolling Stone list that had Eddie Van Halen ranking in the seventies on a list of the 100 greatest rock guitarists was an aberration.

For what it's worth: If I went out my front door and started walking, I could be outside Kirk Hammett's new home in about 25 minutes.
Like I said, for what it's worth.

I've been piecing together a Dr. Demento collection through purchases at Amazon. As far as tunes go, I've got quite a collection of rock songs from the 1960's on to the present. The 1970's is particularly a decade I've still got some work to do with. Rock during that decade is kind of hard to come by if your not into disco like I am. LOL!

I like 70s one hit wonders(like Martian Boogie and Don't Call Us We'll Call You),and I love playing them really loud when I have to do any distance driving. When I got my first CD Writer, I downloaded a mess of songs and burned them. On my first disk was Brownsville Station's "Martian Boogie," one of the funniest records ever ("EAT!"). Sugar Loaf's "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You" is another great song (love the "I Feel Fine" riff in the middle), but unlike Brownsville Station, they weren't a "one hit wonder" -- they are the same band that did the AOR classic "Green-Eyed Lady."

I always like Steve Morse...preferred his stuff with the Dixie Dregs to his work with Kansas.

Ha ha.
Hit home eh?
You like Ozzie Osbourne?
I mean, this list, whole idea is corny -- guitar solos?
What is this, the 70's.
AC-DC had a good song or two. Zepellin had a few more, but they were kitschy too much to be taken particularly seriously.
Jimi Hendrix was great.
Other than that, this list is a list of bands young boys who grow peach fuzz moustache's and smoke cheap dope love.
Am I wrong?
Are you serious?
