Packers are fricking stupid.

Losing Bates hurts, but personally the more I see MM (Mike McCarthy) and the people he's hiring the more impressed I am with him.
I would call the defense fair last year. There was nothing special about them, but it had more to do with talent. The main problem was on offense and they have made moves in hiring to remedy that.
It also seems like a number of asst. coaches on defense MAY get the chance to stay on with the new def coordinator (I'm betting on Gray from Buffalo).
Not expecting Super Bowl or anything, but there will be accountability again in GB and currently that's all I can ask for.

Dear Brett:
Your day is done and all you're doing now is hanging on and keeping this franchise from truly rebuilding.
Please consider a front-office job.
Love,
Packers Fans.

Well, there are some head coaching jobs in the NFL open at present; it only makes sense to make yourself available for them if that is what you have wanted for decades, and you found yourself passed over for the head coach position where you were.

Let's tally it up:
1) Fire a coach who won 3 division championships and got to the playoffs 4 times in five years.
2) Replace him with the offensive coordinator from the team with the worst offense in league andwho was Favre's QB coach during Favre's worst season in the league.
3) cause the release of the defensive coordinator who moved the Packers from the 25th defense in the league to the 7th using essentially the same personel.
Yeah, I'd say Thompson is doing a great job.
