Sorry, but if other Freepers saw this, please take the time to go to FOXSports.com and give them some feedback.
After the Steelers-Colts game, the post-game show included a filmed skit with a guy impersonating George W. Bush, standing in front of the POTUS seal, doing "dumb stuff" remarks about the NFL play-offs.
Afterward, JB said something like "OH, Howie won't like that" (indicating Howie may be a Bush supporter). Howie said he just didn't think it was appropriate to take shots at the President, not to mention that it was a FOOTBALL show.
This deserves a large roar-back.
Also, thanks, Howie, for standing up for decency. And to FOX, SHUT UP AND DO FOOTBALL!

They sometimes make fun of politicians??? Oh, the horrors of it. I'm sure that the skit was all in good fun, and that even Dubya (you know that he's at the White House watching the playoffs right now) got a good laugh from it.
BTW, I love your name. ILL-INI!

This was a football show. It was not an appropriate venue for poking fun at the President. That's your opinion.
I'd bet the majority of Americans could care less of a comedian on and NFL show poked fun at the Prez.

It wasn't the guy on Leno. That guy is funny, the one we are discussing here was lame. I wouldn't even have known he was supposed to be Bush if there weren't a POTUS seal.

I love W. I defend him every chance I get. I gave my sweat, blood, and treasure to get him into the WH twice. But And let's face it, he isn't very eloquent, and that's a severe understatement. He's an EASY target for satirists.
But let's not turn into whining liberals... lighten up. Satire is free speech and no big deal. It's been going on since Democracy was born.
I can, though, imagine this turned around on the liberals... Can't you just see them calling up the station complaining that we should "stop questioning their patriotism!"

Probably this guy: Stand-up comedian Frank Caliendo made his network series debut on the sketch comedy series Hype. Caliendo majored in broadcast journalism at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. After college, he began performing stand-up comedy, taking a job as an emcee at a local comedy club. Within a year he was headlining. Caliendo found his niche performing on the college comedy circuit. Over the past few years, he has performed at over 300 universities and was nominated for College Comedian and Entertainer of the Year by the National Association of Campus Activities. Caliendo has performed stand-up on such series as The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, The View, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and even his own Comedy Central special, "Comedy Central Presents Frank Caliendo. This season he will return as Terry Bradshaw's nemesis while making football picks on FOX NFL SUNDAY. In summer 2004, Caliendo completed yet another successful national stand-up comedy tour, performing to sell-out crowds in cities across the country. He also has created a significant national radio presence on shows across the country, where his special brand of humor reaches millions of listeners. This is Caliendo's fifth season on MADtv.

Although extremely inarticulate.......George W. Bush is foxy smart.
If you really want to make fun of some stupid polititians......try Howard Dean, Ted Kennedy, Charles Wrangle, Pelosi and John Conyers.......

Your complaint to the affiliate will and should be given all the weight and consideration of a brother/sister "mom, he's touching me" backseat squabble.

I can't listen to Bush give a speech. That's so funny, I love President Bush, I go to rallies supporting him, he is on my computer's screen saver and wallpaper we are a very conservative family. But, I get soooo nervous when he is speaking. I just wait usually for the recap, it's hard to watch.

I remember last week during the Giants-Panthers game, it sounded like Aikman saw someone holding up a blank sign and said he thought it was Tim Russert. I had to rewind that back and it still sounded like he said that. I guess we well never really know for sure.

Entertainers have been using look a likes to make fun of Presidents at least as far back as Kennedy. Some times these skits are quite funny. Often I think how funny they are is in the eye of the beholder. Those watching Clinton get skewered for his womanizing laugh their asses off, while any humor targeted at Bush draws anger and protest. The guy doing the humor was from Foxes alternative to Saturday Night Life. He played Bush there during the election season. It's an attempt at humor, nothing more. Perhaps a bad attempt. But entertainment nevertheless. Lighten up.

I agree with you. Getting mad at an impersonator for poking fun at Bush is just silly.

I don't need to be subjected to this stuff when I am tuning in to watch and hear about football. It was half time. Get up and exercise, go to the bathroom or get another beer. All else fails, hit the mute button.

The Colts/Steelers game was on CBS, not FOX. I believe the offense took place after the Colts/Steeler game and prior to the Carolina/Chicago game on Fox. They were using the humor to promote MadTV, their also ran to Saturday Night Life.

While I agree with you, this is friggin football. Why the need for a comedian on the pre-game show anyway. While Caliendo does good impressions, after you've seen them a couple of times, they cease to be funny. I laughed my behind off when I first heard him do John Madden, but after hearing it for the upteenth time, I want to change the channel. Since when have football pregame shows become cabaret shows anyway.
