Per http://www.nndb.com/people/147/000024075/ Koppel is Jewish.

I have a feeling this might've been a deal-breaker if negotiations started in earnest.

Al Jazeera just recognizes a gifted propagandist when they see him. Koppel ( Howdy Doody clone ) just realizes that Al Jazz has yet to adopt the subtleties of real propaganda done right. Al Jazz is still in the mode of delivering idiocy that only muzzies and libs are stupid enough to buy into.

Ted Koppel is ultra paleoconservative, I think, not a neocon, thank God.

So Teddy the Toad only met with them but never SERIOUSLY considered the offer. I guess that means some, or considerable, or semi-serious considerations were in fact rendered to the enemy propaganda machinery.

Which likely means they were a couple big bills short of consummating a real deal.

Koppel should ask himself,'if they want me to work for them, what does that say about my politics'? Naw, he'd never ask himself that.

Why doesn't he just accept retirement and stay home in Potomac counting his money?

[From the article]

Koppel, who recently joined cable television's Discovery Channel, said he and longtime producing partner Tom Bettag had lunch with an Al Jazeera executive, but it "didn't take long for us to decide that that's not what we were going to do.

"I don't think Tom and I entertained it more more than 38 seconds," the former "Nightline" anchor said at an annual winter gathering of TV critics in Pasadena.

That's about 36 seconds longer than necessary Ted.

I think they were just fascinated with Ted's big old Bobblehead.

He is definitely a nodder.
