No it is not. If you want to call him on something call him on his record in Congress or what he says today. If any question is to be made on his war record it should be by DOD/USMC.
Hopefully Republicans will not get behind this because it will lead only to disaster.

Murtha should get John F'n Kerry to vouch for him.

Do not make truth-tellers out of liars. Drop it refute him on the facts.

"Is this a wise place to go?"
Absolutely!
These "war heroes" put their "combat service" out in front and rode that reputation into Congress for decades.
Any Marine worth his salt would be proud to have the world see their war record. I AM!

Is this a wise place to go? No it isn't. Better to stick with the present debate. I, for one, found Murtha's comment that if he had his career to do all over again today he would NOT enlist in the Marine Corps to be quite shocking.
OTOH, this is very interesting. Stolen Valor showed there are large numbers of Americans who exaggerate or make up Vietnam experiences. Politicians seem not to be immune from that.

Is this a wise place to go? No, the 1st words out of any dems mouth will be that Murtha is being attacked akin to what the Swifties did to Kerry.
Not that what the Swifties did to Kerry was wrong but just that what the dems are going to say.
To: GSWarrior
Exactly.
This guy is doing a good enough job on himself.

No, it's not. It's idiotic.
Truth be told, WE HAVE ALREADY BEAT HIM. His point of view has hurt he D's, not helped.
This is literally the ONLY thing we can do to lose the battle at this point.

This is a really bad idea to try this.

Is this a wise place to go? No. Murtha's not running for president. He's in a safe congressional district (for him). Going after every high profile democrat veteran's service is a dumb move that will play in the hands of the democrats. It worked against John Kerry because of his 1971 senate testimony. Murtha has a long congressional record. That's fair game.

Is this a wise place to go? No! Murtha is making a GeeHaw out of himself currently so his record is a moot point. Duke Cunningham is a prefect example that records do not exonerate one from bad actions.

didn't Lantos argue that one of the Republicans should commit suicide like the officer that Hackworth condemned for having a ribbon on he didn't deserve.

The truth is always a wise place to go. And since the credibility of this 'rat, who is citing his mysterious awards as his crowning substantiation, is questioning the decisions, authority, and character of President Bush.

Is this a wise place to go?No, it serves no purpose. The guy did way more than most Americans and now he's a lunatic. Why attack the patriot when you can attack the lunatic?
