An interesting post. A recent widely acclaimed book that sheds much light on China since Mao took over 1n 1949 and one I highly recommend is: "Mao: The Unknown Story". Also, if you or any other FReepers would like some little known (and suppressed by Communists) historical information that shows the bigotry and racism of Karl Marx in his own words - let me know. I know this may sound like some conspiratorial and arcane nonsense but it's in the works of two of the greatest Marxist historians of the 20th century. Some of the language is repellant and shocking so if there are any interested perhaps it should be done by private post.
