The famous pantyhose burner. Especially tough on shorter women who were forced to place both feet next to the car to assist exit. Usually got the left calf. If lucky you were only out the cost of the nylons. If not, the cost of a trip to the ER. In either case you never saw the gal again.

They were actually called lakepipes; reference to the great salt flats, I believe.
They would burn your legs, though.
