What do you mean by "enjoying lifetime privileges as a pet'?
If she did the unglamorous job of running things on the home front so that her husband could spend more time at his job, hasn't she also earned the right to some of his retirement funds?

Absolutely, she is entitled to half of his retiremet funds - they have a social contract. I'm skeptical that the judge would have ruled this way and it is certainly different than the judgements handed down in the cases of people I know.

And if, if fact, the court doesn't provide for ample alimony, then she's right in that young women would be wise to keep up with their careers, and not chuck it all to raise the kids.

The dark, woman hating side of conservative ideology is raising it's ugly head here. Conservatives are all for women raising kids and even homeschooling kids. But they also love it when the man kicks the pet (who used to be the mother and wife) to the curb for the whore down the street. It tells you something...
