Sharon never said he would divide Jerusalem. Anyone who looked objectively at the situation in Gaza understood that the settler's position there was untenable and that situation could not continue. I wasn't crazy about the idea but I don't get a say in the matter...the people who do get a say, Israeli voters overwhelmingly supported him. His new party was headed for an election landslide in the next election. That means something. Ariel Sharon was a great man.

Agreed. And the solution is to throw the Jews out? The same argument could be made for all of Israel. Indeed, many already have made that argument - that Israel should never have been created. There is a right and a wrong here. The right path is the difficult one. Caving in to the demands of murderers is wrong in my opinion.

Yes, it does. The Hellinists overwhelmingly supported the anti-Jewish government of ancient Israel....the Macabees won anyway and today we celebrate their victory as Chanukah. Being in the majority doesn't always mean you're choosing the correct moral path, does it?
