Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat said Thursday Turkish side was ready to return Maras (Varosha) to the Greek Cypriots in return for the lifting of the embargo on the Turkish side and for the opening of Turkish Cypriot ports to international trade... The Greek Cypriot side had rejected similar offer from Turkish side in summer.

It seems to me that if the Cypriots just wait until the Turkish-seized areas are even a couple more decades behind in development, that the Turks'll be even more willing to negotiate a proper settlement.
Quibble -- the island is divided between Turkish Cypriotes and Greek Cypriotes, and both are self-governed.
The last time I checked (30 seconds ago) there are still 40,000 Turkish troops occupying the northern zone and 100,000 of the northern zone's inhabitants are Turkish settlers.
There are about 30,000 Turkish troops based in the TRNC. The RC has been arming for more conflict, receiving missiles from Russia.
Imagine, Turkish people moving to a predominately Turkish area. What a crime. And U.S. OUT OF NORTH AMERICA!!!
Unifying Cyprus is just a drumbeat. It makes no more sense than unifying Hispaniola.
