But that is ABSOLUTELY what they believe. It is the standard Islamic line to say that the New Testament authors were unreliable, and that the text of the Scriptures has been corrupted down through the ages by insertions and deletions supporting the "post-Constantine" teaching that God is a Trinity.

Oh, I understand that's their doctrine, but it wasn't clear if it was your doctrine.
Makes a big difference in approach, wouldn't you think?

I agree, and thanks for helping me clarify that. If I'd have thought of it in time, I would have included the bit about the Scripture in part "B" of my Western Civ essay in Post# 69, as what they are saying about us.
I've added that essay onto my FR homepage, and have just edited in the revision over there.

...the evangelists and especially Paul misunderstood and thought Jesus was divine. Not to mention St. Peter.
Deceived - all of them, eh?

Matthew 24
35:Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36:But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
That being said, I feel the framework could be up, paving the way for the rapture soon. Who knows, I could be wrong but I pray for the Holy Spirit to fill me and for God to fill me with his will.
If we keep our eye on the Lord always, that's all that matters.
God Bless.

If he says it because he believes it, he is both deceived and deceiving. How do they justify this inherent contradiction which is so obviously (and fatuously) intended to inflame the listener?

Not to mention St. Peter.
Deceived - all of them, eh? Well, they could say that the Apostles and Evangelists got it right and were accurate, but then Paul started the "Jesus was God Incarnate" cult, and the Gospel texts were corrupted to reflect that. It depends which Imam you talk to. Some might find a way to say the early Church was pure and Islamic, and that all the corruption started with Constantine and Niceae.

How do they justify this inherent contradiction which is so obviously (and fatuously) intended to inflame the listener? They probably think they're being generous: "It's not all your fault that you're the Dajjal -- you were lied to as a child...."

Dang me, you know, my mind just won't let go of the notion that a Muslim, gently spreading careful propaganda and disinformation to the infidel, would lost quite a bit of credibility if he were known to be Muslim.

Hey, feel free to go to my
FR homepage, click on "In Forum" and read through the last four years of my posts.
Start with early December, though -- 90% of my postings since then have been WOT/Islam-related.
Happy hunting.

They probably think they're being generous: "It's not all your fault that you're the Dajjal -- you were lied to as a child...." Be that as it may, it is nonetheless a logical contradiction to assert both malice and mistake on the same point.
This lends credibility to the contention that mohammedenism is a mongrel religion cobbled together by illiterates from poorly understood pieces of Judaism and Christianity.
There is a New Testament reference for "deceiving and being deceived," but it is an open ended statement without specificity.

Dajjal, old buddy, take me off your ping list.
Thanks.
I already get enough emails in Arabic and English
unsolicited -- don't need to come on
FR and get pinged to this, too.

It should be noted that a spokesman for Harun Yahya (and BAV, of course) was hired by the Kansas Conservatives to speak at textbook hearings. These two groups have been allies for some time.
