Mark my words, this tragedy will be used for political hay. President Bush will be directly named as being responsible for this.

It should be blamed on democrats and the greens. They are the ones forbidding us from recovering fossil fuels from safer areas. If we were able to recover oil and gas from deposits located off either coast, or in the gulf, or in "sensitive" locations inland, or in ANWR, the lives of these coal miners might have been spared.

A somewhat sigh of relief that Manchin's not a Republican.

Yep.... in a couple of days Hillary etal will be asking why OSHA hadn't shut down the mine? And OSHA works directly for the Bush Administration you know.... :)

When was the last time a tragedy wasn't milked for all the political juice it could possibly be? I can't think of one in recent history.

Tragedy is to political gain what pollen is to honey making.

Oh, that's already started. Last night around 6:30 PM (before the fate of the miners was known), there was a caller to a local Philly talk show host spouting off about how Bush was to blame because he "has dismantled the government" and the only way to prevent these disasters was "more government regulation and more government spending on saftey and engineering".

This crazed lib actually thought that the government should pay to send engineers into mines to make the mines "safe". Of course, then she will call the next show and complain about "corporate welfare"....

Wasn't he? Didn't he hire Israel to blow up the tunnel? Just like Reagan was resposible for AIDS by personally raping and infecting men across the nation. [/sarcasm]

I have been wondering -- what do you think the angle will be to blame this on Bush? Lax enforcement of mine safety is my take.

One thing you can count on, it's coming to a moonbat website by tonight's news cycle.
