On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
Woo Hoo! Awesome game! Congratulations to the Texas team and Vince Young! The eyes of America were upon Texas tonight. Way to go!

I am not familiar with TNet, either, Palmetto (I have been in PA for a long time). I assume from your discussion that TNet (Tigernet) is a discussion forum for Tiger Fans and/or Alumni?
He could have called a time out to give the officials time to think about it.
The ref's did USC wrong more than once thou, really wrong, enough to change the outcome, IMHO....
If they had made the proper call with Vince Young's lateral, Texas would have had a lst down on the 10 yard line. A touchdown is very likely in that situation.
In the notre dame situation, if the officials had made the correct call, the game would have been over right then and there and USC would have lost.
The refs also screwed up the Texas interception so it all equals out.
I only saw two obvious bad calls in the game, one for each side. The Young to Young lateral was one, since Vince was clearly down, but even if the play was overturned, Texas probably still would have scored, and USC might not have had time to come back and get points.
USC caught a big break on the next drive, when an obvious interception was called an incomplete pass and not reviewed. The Texas player clearly had the ball until he hit the ground, meaning it should have been Texas ball. With more than 2 minutes in the half, the momentum would have shifted greatly to Texas, we may well have scored again before halftime. At the least, USC would not have gotten the field goal.
He managed his timeouts very poorly. Good point.
Tonight, USC was out-coached. Not taking the FG the first time they went for it on fourth down, not punting at the end of the game, and taking the time out prior to the Texas two point conversion are just the obvious ones. USC defensive ends continually taking the outside track on the pass rush, which opend up holes for Vince was a bad move. Should have not penetrated so deep into the backfield, but shold have kept Vince in front of the pass rush to force him wide if he was going to leave the pocket.
I still never saw a holding call on USC (they held all freaking night)
I never saw a block in the back call (they did that all night)
LSU has the most disgusting fans in college sports.
And lightning hasn't struck me yet, either. But we sure needed the rain.
See post #180 ... I forecast 41-37 Texas ... final score, 41-38!

Why they let USC hold all game long!
Plus USC blew their time outs and totally mismanaged thier clock
What an arrogant SOB.
We're talking about defensive units. Try to understand posts before reading them.
You mean the game where the ref's gave a fumble and a touchdown to Texas?
That game?
*smile
Perhaps you missed Nebraska's Tommie Frazier in the '96 Fiesta Bowl. Almost identical stats as Neb totally destroyed #2 and supposedly unbeatable Florida, 62-24
Fulmer is a great recruiter but he has underperformed in getting the most of that talent. Many experts thought the Vols would be playing in the Rose Bowl tonite.
