"You folks" is an appellation given to the other people on the thread to whom I am addressing a comment. I call myself "I," I call you folks, well, "you folks." Should I have said y'all? Yunz? Youse? They all mean the same thing.
How anyone can infer a hostile meaning from that is beyond me.
