So tests have been done which demonstrate that evolution was NOT directed by God? (assuming amoeba-to-man evolution occurs at all, which in my initial hypothetical question was posed as being true).
This is why evolution is seen as being an attack on people's faith. Science, as currently defined, assumes the non-relevance of God, and would maintain that evolution would occur whether God exists or not. Yet, there's no more proof that He doesn't exist than there is that He does.
Science simply assumes God had nothing to do with the multitude of life forms on earth, when perhaps He did.
