"The Boomer generation is also the Hippie Liberal Generation.

The generation, as a whole, cannot go away fast enough for me."

Born in '58. I'm NOT a Hippie Liberal, rather a tax paying Reagan Capitalist. Been paying for the REAL gimmie generation ('greatest generation') since employed at age 16, 1973. When the likes of my generation decides to retire (and soon I hope, I'm 47) we'll take our IRA's, cash in on the stock market and real estate investments and you Gen X and others will be begging for our hard working @sses to return (after the market reflects the decline your portfolio)!

Just a thought...

Good one poobear! I, too, was born in 1958. I think we boomers were one of the reasons Bush was elected!

As an X'er, I have invested since 18 as most of the working X'ers have done. Were not worried about you leaving the workforce and taking your investments...as a matter of fact, most of you are going to will your money to the next generation anyway. That is what most analyists are saying. Thankfully besides the investments, I will get a pension for service in the military. But really I think that the X'ers are going to have to support alot of the Baby Boomers who were not as educated as you when it came to investments. Good job and look forward to joining you on the golf course someday.
