Xena, my mom just got through with the whole shebang 3 months ago. She had a pretty rough time (chemo and radiation) but the good news is that 3 months out, her hair is back, her fatigue is gone, and she says she feels almost as good as new (still has a nap in the afternoon.)

The thing that may be of interest to you is that we went through all this stuff 10 years ago with my dad (who is still cancer free), and the advances they have made both in effectiveness and patient comfort are unbelievable.

So be of good cheer, this thing CAN be beat, and your mom WILL do fine.

Thanks for the kind words! Mom's feeling beat-up because ordinarily she's not a sick-type person - she tends not to go to the doctor for anything less than pneumonia - and the chemo is just wearing her out. We're hoping the radiation won't be as hard on her.

But like I said, she's tough - she scares punks (including me) - and I have no doubt she'll be fine come this time next year.
