BTW, I need to update my anti-virus subscription and will probably upgrade to the latest NAV at the same time. Will installing a new program seriously degrade or crash the F@H program? Should I pause it first or exit it before the install? I don't want to lose the WU currently in progress (88% done, 181 points).

Shouldn't be a problem. The client "check points" every 3 to 30 minutes defaulting to 15.(via GUI See advanced tab under configure). This means you'll lose back to your last checkpoint if you have to reboot. With the GUI version, you can move the slider all the way to the left to minimize re-work. In the console version, it's under advanced options.

As to the ping list, that's not me :). I am just one of the noisy regulars as of late, hehe.

Thanks for the info.

I've set mine to 9.

I just found out that 'texas booster' has a ping list (see post # 44).

Thank you.  I'll use that procedure when installing/uninstalling any new programs, etc.

Thanks - I will probably just keep the GUI, but I do have 512mb DDR memory with about 150mb available & cpu (AMD 2100) running 100% at 49o F (client at 95%), and 355mb system managed page file (on 1st partition of 2nd HDD).   If I used the console, I might be able to give the client a little more ram, but I'm not sure how much more would be optimum without degrading performance of the system as a whole.

haha - that sounds like me, LOL.

Use notepad to create a list of FReepers with a ; between each screenname, then just copy & paste into the 'TO:' box of the reply screen.  Be sure to save the notepad file and name it something to remind you which ping list it is.

Thank you for adding me to your ping list.

It's great to have so many helpful FReeper friends.  Thanks to all of you.
