Frankly, I think it is quite possible that his wife made the decision. As a woman, I would find it very hard to live with a public person, or a person so obsessed with having the latest technological gadget. Sexuality is not always the issue for incompatibility -- actually, the most common issue is money. If people don't have the same spending priorities, that's a very hard one to resolve.
