When I asked the question --- Where are all the angry atheists? --- I didn't mean here in FR. I know that the atheists in FR can see the sickening contradiction between spending millions to eradicate a tiny cross from a State Seal in CA, and officially promoting and coercing students into the "study of Islam".

I concede to the good points you have made.

When I asked my question, I meant: out there.

Out there, in liberal, looney, la-la land, Where are all the angry atheists?

I imagine they are reporting for duty the way John Kerry reports for duty: only when it looks good on camera.

Giving the rest of us normal ones a bad name.

Exactly.

By the way, I don't subscribe to that particular word usage, but my beliefs pretty much line up that way. I just have a problem with making a strong assertion regarding a negative, ie 'there is no God'. I would never say that.

The way I prefer to think of it is like this: We don't need the divinity concept to structure our scientific understanding of the universe.

Why can't these people just use common sense? A three week activity for Islam which includes requiring them to observe the five pillars of Islam -- the first of which is that there is no other God than Allah? Er, a bit of a problem for the Christians and Jews in the school, don't ya think?
It's not a question of common sense, it's a question of motivation. The left is perpetually motivated by a deep and lusty hatred of the Western world.

Communism is the preferred weapon of destruction, of course, but when you're on a rampage, you use whatever tool is handy.

Islam is handy.

And nothing helps fan the flames of a good unholy rampage than a strong dose of Islam. I think the commie leftists actually envy their Islamic brothers. Nobody can work up a truly zealous hatred of the West the way a little gathering of jihadists can!

I would have been down the school administration's throat so fast it would make your head spin. I am having great fun sending my daughter to school with articles which debunk human-caused global warming. She is having fun getting her 4th
grade teacher, too. :)

Phyllis J. Hamilton, the idiot judge that ruled in favor of the school district in 2003 because she thinks since this crap is done by a non Muslim teacher in a non Muslim community its ok to teach islamocrap to American children. She should be tard, feathered and kicked out of her position, the worthless Cliton appointed tart.

The actual case heard by joker judge Hamilton.

I'm not a religious fanatic but I'd do anything to get this piece of trash impeached. The link below also has the ACTUAL handout text of what that idiot of a school teacher, asked children to do. I haven't found out who the teacher is yet but once I do, I'm posting her home adress on the world wide web so she can collect her "Merry Christmas" mail. ;p
http://www.blessedcause.org/Indoctrination/ByronCountyShocker.htm

Under Glossary Jihad is explained as:
ji-HAD: to struggle against oppression

The Liberal wanker Law firm and attorney for the Byron school district:
http://www.altshulerberzon.com
http://www.altshulerberzon.com/attorneys_llye.htm

Under victory cases:
"Eklund v. Byron Union School District - Established the right of public school teachers to use games, role-playing, and other methods considered to be best pedagogical practices to teach about the history, culture and religion of Islam as part of a secular program of education in a world history class."

"When asked what they thought about the course, students described it as "fun", while others described Islam as "a pretty culture". Joseph Lemings, 12, told ANS, the jihad was like playing a "video game". The "fun" description disturbs Elizabeth Lemings, who sees the course as a tool, not only to engender sympathy and support for the Muslim cause, but for recruitment. This is not just a class of history of examining culture, she said. This course is entirely too specific. It is more about indoctrination. Nancy Castro, principal of Intermediate-Excelsior School of Byron, told ANS that the Islam course, included within "History of Culture", reflects California educational standards. Castro maintains the course, is not religion, but ancient culture and history. "We do not endorse any religion; we just make students aware". Castro further emphasized the course textbook is in use throughout California.
http://www.papillonsartpalace.com/islamS.htm

Castro also blames the media. In a letter sent to parents, she claims the school has been "victimized by a classic case of misinformation that has led to hysteria among people outside of our community." Included in the "misinformation" in the ANS report, according to Castro, is that it was not mandatory for students to take names of Arabs of the Middle Ages or to wear Muslim clothing, and they did not wear the robes to school but only during the class "simulation."

Peggy Green, the Superintendent of the Byron Union School district says that the school is merely reflecting the California guidelines for seventh grade and that the students are learning about Islam in the same way that they learn about Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, and other major religions. She says that individual teachers will augment the curriculum with various activities and games, including dressing-up and role playing, in order to "stimulate class discussion". Green did not specifically say whether there had been prayers to Allah or any other devotional activities encouraged by the teacher at Byron. Green says she and her staff have been fielding calls and other messages to the school about the controversy, many of which have been malignant and threatening.

Threatening? Yeah Miss Green, we feel really bad for you and your turd buddies teaching AMERICAN kids about the "great" tradition of Islamofascist [sarcasm] boo-hoo-hoo-NOT! You brought this upon yourselves by teaching this junk...boneheads. I have no sympathy for you or your crack pot buddies and will gladly walk right by all of you as unworthy smelly trash if any of you ever end up homeless and on the streets.

Oh, make sure you all read the "WHY Prayer to Allah is OK in Public Schools" link:

"Accused Terrorist Wrote School Guidelines with ACLU.
WHY Prayer to Allah is OK in Public School. Abdurahman Alamoudi, President of the American Muslim Council, supporter of Hamas, Hezbollah and accused of ties with Osama bin Laden, helped develop "Religious Expression in Public School" with the ACLU which holds the copyright. Launched by Clinton in 1995, these "Presidential Guidelines" greatly impact public schools today. Nadine Strossen, President of the ACLU, refers to these guidelines as the authority to support the ACLU’s lawsuits restricting Christmas celebrations and removing Nativity scenes from public schools."
http://www.blessedcause.org/proof/Clinton%20Abdurahman%20Alamoudi.htm

"Muslim leader with D.C. ties indicted. Alamoudi, who helped Pentagon start Islamic chaplains program, accused of helping bin Laden, Hamas. Oct 23 - On Wednesday, NBC News reported on a man who helped the Pentagon develop the Islamic chaplains program for the U.S. armed forces, a man who was later stopped with hundreds of thousands of dollars in his possession — and some serious questions about his background. Now there is more, and if federal prosecutors are right, this is a man who moved from the shadowy world of terrorism to the centers of power in Washington and back again."

It is not an "exercise." If these kids are told to recite the Islamic shahada they become converts to Islam. Period.

Want to revert back to your former religion? It is up to a Sharia court to decide whether you were tricked into making the shahada

I was wondering when someone was going to make the first post on this most obvious point.

It's also quite telling that the Ninth District black-robed clowns had NO clue about the implications of these kind of activities.
