I just NEVER, EVER do anything that would make me "stand out" when driving through a neighborhood I am not used to..and even around my house..
I was taught to ride on the shoulder facing oncoming traffic. If a situation occurred I would be able to see it coming and take evasive action. A drunk driver can sneak up behind you and you'll never know what hit you. Happened to a relative of mine.
Which brings to mind laws that say cars should stop for pedestrians. If someone doesn't obey that law, it's the pedestrian who loses. I'm not willing to take that chance. I pretend to be walking until I see a chance to cross.
My safety is up to me. I can't leave it up to the other guy.
This is why God invented the hood ornament flame thrower.

If Wisconsin has shall issue CCW and he was packing, this wouldn't have happened. Indeed, there's a very good chance it wouldn't have happened even if he wasn't packing since the subumans who did it would have been afraid he might have been packing and been deterred by that fear.
The next person stuck in this situation had better hit the accelerator and blast through the crowd if he has to.

If you're not actually on the road, that is perfectly legal. What I'm talking about, however, is actually on the road, at which point bicyclists are bound by the same laws as all other vehicular traffic. Riding against traffic, on the roadway, is insane.

Man, I wish our local constables would clue in the cyclists out here (we're in great riding country). Aside from the expected running of stop signs and lights, most of them seem to disdain the dedicated bicycle lane and are quite content to impede traffic by chugging in the vehicle lanes.
