Iceland, around midnight. Current weather data shows a balmy temperature reading of 41 degrees Farenheit in Reykjavik.

That's GOTTA be in the summer!

It's darker than a well-digger's pocket at midnight there, right now!

Morning!

We stole the plans for this one. It should do the job.

Um, those wings do fold up, don't they?

No. But we do have one of these...

"What would we need it for, since we're already airborne?"

Good question, since it is smaller in every exterior dimension than our Gas-Cooled Nuclear Reactor/Rocket Engines, and we have a slew of those.

Lawn ornament?

No hangover this morning but yes I do.

Being cheerful and bubbly in the morning even if you have to fake it for the first few minutes annoys the grouches of the world. Annoying them cheers me up to the point that I no longer have to fake it.

But I am never bubbly around the sleepy. That would be mean.

Too small, and too high-gee for our purposes.

I'm looking for a coil-gun in the fifty foot diameter range, to be installed along a mountain range like the first climb on a roller-coaster. Gee force no greater than ten gees.

It will have to be about a hundred miles long, and we'll have to scale up a bit from "current" technology.

I have the day off. That is a much better start to the New Year then the last year.

I slept until 7:00 I had coffee, a leisurely shower followed by breakfast. Cat is curled up on my arm and purring away.

It is the simple things.

Is it possible to grow immune to the effects of caffeine?

Sure. But it is possible to hit the reset button.

Just go de-caf for about three to five days and you will find the coffee jump start works very nicely again.

It is a literal pain for the first 48 but I find doing a biannual detox does me a world of good

100 miles? Only 10G? Exactly how fast do you think this thing needs to be?
