Census estimate a concern for state (Taxachussetts losing a House seat)
The Boston Globe ^ | 12/23/05 | Scott Helman

Massachusetts lost residents for the second year in a row, new federal Census estimates show, underscoring an accelerating population shift from the Northeast to the South and West that threatens to erode the state's political and economic clout.

Only two other states, along with the District of Columbia, lost population from July 1, 2004, to July 1 of this year, according to US Census estimates released yesterday. The Bay State lost about 8,600 residents, or .1 percent of its population, according to the estimates.

If the trend continues, specialists say, the state will face serious consequences: fewer seats in Congress, companies choosing to locate or expand elsewhere, a shrinking labor force, and less federal funding for transportation, housing, and other initiatives.

As long as they have Harvard and MIT, with the Boston hospital complex - they should not be lacking for high hech companies.

Odd. You would think that a socialist Democrat welfare state like Massachusetts would attract parasites like a magnet.

Lets be honest here. Go up to Mass...and look for new folks moving in. First, you won't find more than 100 southerners who have packed up and moved into Mass...it just doesn't happen unless you got desperate to marry some gal or dude from the state. Folks from the left coast moving to Mass...hardly ever..same way for midwest folks. You might find two or three thousand folks from Penn, NY or Maryland moving in...just to be with relatives or because of the job.

But now, with moving out...I'd bet the south is gaining most of those moving out. Retirees are finding Florida to much cheaper, and much better weather than Mass. Why stay in your older years?

So my prediction. 2010 will spell the end of one seat in congress for Mass. So they will go from 10 down to 9. I also will predict the population trend to continue through 2020, and at least another seat (maybe even two seats), will go by 2020. So you may live to see the state with just seven Representatives, and a bit less strength in the electoral college.

Ohio's set to lose two so they shouldn't complain. And we have a slight increase in pop.

Fudge packers don't produce children, and liberal abortionists slaughter liberal infants in their mother's wombs. These two legs of the left wing platform, the worship of the gay life style and religion of abortion will continue to decrease the population of the Blue Cities.

Intelligent people with morality have left and will leave the Bostons and Gay Friscos across the nation. This will be the road map for most Blue Cities in the next 10 to 20 years.

This will leave the elite limo Rat rulers of these Blue Cities with less political and economical power. Their welfare voters will become less educated and totally incapable of helping themselves and be fewer in numbers. The criminal gangs will control the city streets and the welfare voters.

The large fishwraps of these Blue Cities are seeing and will see massive drops in circulation rates and paid subscription rates. This will negatively impact their ad $'s and stock values. They will continue to drive Republicans away with with their daily hatred of GW, Republicans, morality, Christians and real Jews. Most big city fishwraps will close their doors during this decade, and be replaced by a national DNC fishwrap like the USA Today with some regional news and the continued hatred of the right.

The loss of good people in Boston, Detroit, Gay Frisco and other Blue cities is just the tip of the putrid Ice Berg these human cess pools have become.

You realize that all this means is that the elites will have to eliminate democracy, if it is no longer a useful way for them to hold onto their power.

The decent people are pulling out and the gays won't be making babies the traditional way after they get "married."

Fudgepackers!

I went to see Walk The Line today at the theater when the trailer for Brokeback Mountain came on....I guess I sighed just a little bit too loud for the two cupcakes in the row next to me, one who glared at me.

They almost accomplished it in Florida in the 2000 Presidential election, and they did accomplished it in Washington state last year of the Governor election.

As families leave, so do their children. Sum calls it ''losing our future."

You'd think this might give them a clue. Wait, it's MA, they won't get it.

MA will not lose a seat in 2020, and definitely not lose 2. I hope I am wrong but the numbers I saw indicate MA will lose one in 2010 and one in 2030.
