Is Smith a director? Not familiar with him so I'll have to google it.
The draw of LOTR? You mean aside from the awesome cinematogrophy, compelling good vs evil storyline set in a magical universe that taps into something essential to man? Well, other than that, there wasn't much of an appeal.
Writer/director/actor. He did Clerks, Mall Rats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob's Adventure. I don't typically like comedies, but he makes me laugh until it hurts.
Wow. Maybe I'd better have a look!
Haven't seen any of these and in fact don't recognize the titles. Will look into it. Your reputation is at stake!
Can't help but ask if you've seen Mr and Mrs Smith and your thoughts, if so?
It was a fun movie, but it's one of those films you have to shut half your brain off to enjoy. I'm not knocking it, because I really did enjoy it, but it's not something I could watch twice.

This movie fulfilled every hippie liberal sterotype while making all of them out to be the 'ideal' family. I couldn't have found this movie more annoying.
I knew it within the first minute when I saw the gay son & boyfriend and the daughter's NPR bag.
Stupid, stupid film.
