Why has the 'Pub party resisted doing anything about our borders so far?

That's the question that many lifetime 'Pubs are asking and getting no answer. The Bush open borders/pandering policy for the last five years has scared many of us away in disgust.

I wonder about that myself. The only thing I can think of, and it will anger alot of people, is that the republican Party is all too willing to accomodate Corporate America. I just cannot think of another reason why the GOP would allow this to continue.
