One has to wonder why in the world Joe and Val approved that picture to be in Time.

Do you or anyone else understand what the symbolism is?

I don't know what the intention was with that picture, but it really says:

Valerie's seeming pathos in that b&w pic of the Wilsons reminds me of Scarlet O'Hara's, "But Reeett, what will I doooo?" (and our response, 'Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn".)
