He is like Dracula. A communist RAT of the worst order.
I was arrested and held for 3 hours when I was 17 (22 years ago) and have never been in trouble since. One of my best childhood friends is a police officer and I respect and admire the work police officers do. With that said, I don't see the need to send police all over the state to attend the funeral of an officer they don't know on the taxpayer's dime.
I would agree with proper honors to include a color guard, pall bearers and rifle detail, but why does a cop from 3 counties over need to attend a funeral for a guy he doesn't know, especially if tax payers are paying for his trip and/or overtime for the event?
The officers are going on their own time. They aren't going on on the "clock."
My husband is a policeman here in the metro NY area, and though he doesn't go to every single line-of-duty funeral -- he did not attend this particular NYPD one, for example -- he has never attended one while on the clock. It has always been on his own time.
Regards,
Then with my most humblest apologies, I retract my statement.

Please tell your husband, I appreciate and respect his service to our community.
LOL...I took a step to prevent just that here in Washington. In the event I take one for the team on the job or in the line of duty, I have specific instructions in my emergency packet that in no way should the witch governess attend any related memorials or funerals (as is tradition) and that it would be an insult to my family if my wishes are not followed.
Wonderful FReep handle there!
Think nothing of it, dpa...and have a very Merry Christmas!
Regards,
Please let us in Orange County join our new state, we vote intelligently (county went for Bush).
