Thank you for the post. This is an aspect of the Alito nomination that, honestly, had not entered my mind.
All the more reason to fight to get him on the court as soon as possible.

Is It Treason Yet?

Lifelong Independent Voter AND a Viet Nam Vet
helping the Republican Party, again,
just like on Nov 2 2004 PING
There is no need to impeach Hanoi Kerry from the US Senate
He is there illegally!
WAKEUP AMERICA!
For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.
Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen
Why is Kerry still in the US Senate?
This is in violation of
U.S. Constitution Amendment 14 Sec 3 (1868)
Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress,
or elector of President and Vice President,
or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States,
or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath,
as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States,
or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer
of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States,
shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same,
or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.
But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

The FBI has proof of his giving aid and comfort to the enemies

Kerry and Julia traveled to Paris, France and met with Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, the Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam (PRG), the political wing of the Vietcong, and other Viet Cong and Communist Vietnamese representatives to the Paris peace talks, a trip he now calls a "fact-finding" mission.
(U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953, declares it illegal for a U.S. citizen to go abroad and negotiate with a foreign power.)

Just as he did during Vietnam, John Kerry is falsely accusing American troops of committing atrocities as a matter of normal course in an attempt to undermine support for the war among Americans!!

Murtha cleared the path, but Dean and Kerry crossed the line with their most recent comments. Treason is certainly what I would call it, what else can one say, other than "TRAITOR"!?

Sure makes ya wonder when the AG gets off his ass and starts doing his job and starts leveling charges at all the a'holes in government and the streets who are no friends of this nation but operate openly to provide aid and comfort to our sworn enemies.
In case anyone hasn't noticed, we are at war.
It really makes you wonder if he and others in high offices can see the threats they present to our survival.

I'm pregnant with my sixth child and just can't afford to raise him on my own. It's time for the taxpayers to pony up. I figure it's easier this way than lobbying for more welfare money.

I've been lead to believe that a declaration of war is necessary as well. But I think I'm wrong about that.
Prost1 in post#47 has an interesting opinion about what may be involved and at least to me, his point is well taken.

It's a shame that W isn't as great a President as Lincoln was. I give you Lincoln's words on the subject: "Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled, or hanged." He backed it up, too.
Article 3 Section 3 also includes the word "adhere". The question of if they are providing "aid and comfort" is moot, because they certainly are "adhering" to America's enemies.
If these people had been around during WWII and there had been a Republican in office, they'd be advocating "strategic redeployment" of our troops out of North Africa during Operation Torch. They'd be pointing to US casualties at Kasserine Pass as being too high a price to pay for oil, and they'd be screaming about how Tunesia had never attacked us.
