The Amish are a very very isolated & interbred population. There are no relevant conclusions to draw from them any more than there are relevant conclusions to draw from a study of tribal Australian Aborigines.

The Amish, yes, I agree. But 30,000 children in Chicago who are not Amish? That's why this writer was so interested in paying a visit.

There actually WAS an interesting study of aborigines and vaccines. Their infant mortality rate increased to nearly 50% following the inception of a government vaccination program. Massive doses of vitamin C reversed the trend. (It will take me a couple of days to find the cite if you're interested).
