Nope, that's real...Princess Juliana, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. The beach is Maho Beach and there are hundreds of pictures like that of airplanes coming in right over the beach; the end of the runway is just across that access road. The airport only has one runway, and there's a mountain at the other end, so most approaches are made over Maho Beach. Granted, that 747 was a little low, but not THAT low compared to others. If you go to airliners.net and look for their most popular pictures of all time, probably two-thirds of them are shots taken at Maho Beach.

BTW whoever posted the "Blizzard of '05" post was more on the mark than I thought. Initial forecasts called for 2-3 inches...there was at least 8-10 on the ground an hour ago...and its still coming down. Despite this, and a 3 hour drive home that usually takes 45 minutes...we're all NOT going to die, just thought I'd add that.

At the southeast corner of the airport, there is an intersection. At the northeast corner of that corner there is the White Castle.
You win, that's correct.

I went there for the picture I posted. But it's a bar website, so I thought it might be a gag...

"Note to Southwest:
Hire more ex-Navy pilots."
I'm just tuning in....I take it you're an ex-navy pilot. Wasn't that what the airlines did after Vietnam? ....hire ex-military pilots? That was probably their greatest source of experienced pilots. Am I correct?

According to WGN, 3 children, 2 adults injured in the car, at least 2 are in critical condition, some of the others are serious.

"
That doesn't make much sense since it was snowing here."
This is info from people supplying relief crews. Snow/ice or whatever, they have a major problem. It isn't very warm right now.

Look at the guy hunched down in this picture as the plane comes over them. (he is in front of the guy in the red shirt at the right of the picture.)

The WSJ said Southwest went for Denver because they have excess planes due to NOLA being washed away.

They're legit. Here's the approach to PJIA.

I take it that you and the lovely Ms. cyborg will be living close to the airport?
I used to live in Seattle about halfway between Seatac and Boeing Field. 747's were always taking off and landing. I love watching those planes in the air. They are so stately, like ocean liners of the sky.
It just sucks to travel in them (if you are flying coach, that is).
