Thanks. Do you have any idea how far I am from ANY White Castle Restaurant? And how much I'm craving, now that you mentioned it? ;>)

I've seen ATA 757s flying into and out of Midway. Not a biggun, but big enough.

I remember seeing some 757s last time I was through there, but I don't ever remember anyone flying anything as big as an L-1011 in there. I can't think of anyone in their right mind who would GET ON an L-1011 at Midway.

It doesn't. Those frozen things don't pass for real sliders.

Just to clarify, the picture is facing northwest over the 63rd and Cicero intersection. The very end of the runway being approached is at 55th and Central (1 mile north and 1 mile west) where today's accident took place.

The crash is at 55th and Central -- the northwest corner of the airport.

Farther west, the real hot spot was the Prime and Tender on Harlem. I was too old for the place even back then. And, near Pulaski, The Midget Club owned by a dwarf couple who were supposedly in The Wizard of Oz.

Thats a pretty short runway they have over at Midway.

Pilot: "Yeeeow... that was really a short runway".

Co-Pilot: "Yah, but look how ~wide~ it is..."

This guy on with Alan Colmes has no idea what he is talking about...identified as "a military pilot."

It sounded like he greeted Alan as "Sean Colmes." Did anyone else hear that?

I remember hearing of the Prime & Tender, but I don't remember The Midget Club.

Then again, we're talking Chicago -- nothing would surprise me.

The entire airport is only one square mile although they have moved the terminal over to the east side of Cicero.
