Of course torture can never be justified, but making the enemy uncomfortable can.

Nowhere in the story does it define 'torture'.
I am in favor of coercive interrogation, as was used by the CIA recently, to include waterboarding.
Also, I approve of drugs (truth serum) as an acceptable means of obtaining information.
