It was shortly after the Communion flap that local Episcopal officials first reached out to McGreevey, said the Rev. Elizabeth Kaeton of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chatham.

"After that whole fiasco with the Roman Catholic Church, when they said they wouldn't give him Communion because of his position on abortion, some of us -- I was one of them -- spoke to him privately and said, 'Have you thought about the Episcopal church?'" said Kaeton, who was among those attending last night's fundraiser. "That kind of evangelism works."

The Episcopal Church can have as much of that kind of evangelism as they want...

I actually know a guy who was raised Catholic who attends St. Paul's in Chatham under duress because his hyperliberal wife will only attend that particular church.

There is a reason that I refer to them as Catholic Lite...or Catholics who can't follow the rules

She's right: that kind of evangelism does work, and I hope she lures other "Catholics" into her own, moribund church. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, McGreevey!
