Why, oh why, oh why can't our side mount intelligent, articulate and aggressive responses and arguments in the face of these stupid media ploys?...

Hadley's horrible performance today is a perfect case in point. "Our" side's journalists ask stupid questions that are horribly "answered" by "our" side's even dumber spokesmen.

It is so disheartening, isn't it? The Administration's long-standing policy of making calm, well-reasoned arguments and responses is necessary, and should be continued in order to maintain firm control of the moral high-ground.

However, although it is necessary, it is obviously not sufficient. It needs to be supplemented with media-savvy "Special PR Forces" personnel who possess both a thorough knowledge of the issues AND the mental alacrity, wit and chutzpah to take the fight to the media.

I realise there are many on our side who repeatedly make the case that although the President and his team make statements every day, the media simply refuses to cover them, and (woe is us) there is nothing we can do to force them.

I disagree. It can be done. It is a very high-risk strategy, but it can be done. What is necessary is, to very publicly and at a carefully chosen event or moment, pick a deliberate fight with the media. Catch one of them who is factually in error, call them on it and publicly humiliate them. It's even better if it's a fact on which they have been corrected before, because then you can also ask them why they're lying about it.

Do this a few times and I guarantee you'll have no problem getting plenty of media coverage. It will get ugly, it will be a bloodbath, but the fear of the media everyone seems to have is greatly overestimated. It has long been obvious that most of them are, with a very few exceptions, shamefully ignorant and downright stupid, and the majority of the American people despise them. The members of the vast "great unwashed" heartland, after enduring decades of their smug condescension, are just itching for someone to come along and knock them on their asses.

"What is best in life?"

"To crush your enemies. To see them driven before you. To hear the lamentations of their editors/producers/publishers."
