You know, when we got rid of Lott, I thought we were really going to get tough. I saw Lott as being forced to step down by his own party so we could get someone tougher and stronger. I was wrong.

You know, when we got rid of Lott, I thought we were really going to get tough. I saw Lott as being forced to step down by his own party so we could get someone tougher and stronger. I was wrong. Lott is not a racist. Lott said nothing wrong. The fact that the Republican Party leadership "cut and run" from this battle is a key indicator of what cowards they really are. Not that I liked Lott, he was a spineless wimp too. I, like you, hoped that he would have been replaced by someone with more of a spine. And I guess Hastert does, but not by much.
