Funny how you remember tail numbers when they all look alike! Guess it comes from writing them down on delivery sheets night after night. A few years ago, I might even have remembered what HAS it was usually parked at.

Have a safe trip home and welcome back!

I just remember which # from looking at them at Bentwaters and Turkey. I remember working late into the night and all the folklore about the place. I used to run around driving the jammer.........LOL....

Ahhh... the jammer. Push down on the pedal to stop, let up on the pedal to go. Weird concept to learn after driving a car! (and not intuitive to handling bombs around million dollar aircraft!)

Surprisingly enough, there are not a lot of pictures of jammers on the net. I also remember that all the controls were not labeled... everything was trial and error, another "not a good thing" when handling bombs in a real world situation.

Individuals are trained to follow a command structure, but are also able and willing to think for themselves and take initiative in response to a rapidly changing situation.

That's one critical piece of the equation Prince Caspian

Do we also thank God for the electrical failure?

Depends on whether you're a horse's patoot or not.

You can go right ahead!

"....lost its electrical system."

It should give anyone with a modicum of practicallity pause when they see modern airliners (both AirBus and Boeing) being designed to be all-electric. When the electrical system goes (as it did with that 757 down in South America) everyone on the airplane is a passenger.

It may be "high-tech," but it certainly doesn't inspire confidence in reliability.
