Oh, I've seen every south park ever shown - all the way from the original spirit of christmas.
While you're right about them being brutal on the mormons, their treatment of Jesus and especially his place in modern society is more reverant, even if it seems to be blasphemous for some.
For example, there's the boxing match versus satan - where it's a lesson about people abandoning their faith and betting on satan. Or Jesus having to resort to a cable access show to get his message out (once turning it into a jerry springer clone in one episode). And especially during the "red sleigh down" episode, where Jesus rescued santa from his captors in the middle east, and paid for it with his life. In the end, santa gives this little speech:
" Everyone! Everyone, can I please have
your attention? Christmas is a very
special time of year, but... this year
it almost didn't happen. There's a man
named Jesus who gave his life to save
me. And so I declare that every year
on Christmas Day. we should remember
Jesus for what he did, and thank him
for it. From now on, Christmas will
be a day for remembering a brave man
named Jesus."
Which is a biting commentary on how the meaning of christmas has shifted from Jesus Christ to celebrating "Xmas", which is all about presents.

Exactly! I guess some people just don't get it though.
I think those guys really are incredibly insightful.
