it would have to borrow from peacekeeping funds in a complex operation that would need General Assembly approval.
Oh like that would be hard to do.....
This, in turn, would delay monies due to nations contributing troops. Sach estimated a $25 million shortfall in the first quarter if the budget were delayed.
Huh ?! The peace keeping nations get paid to send their troops ? This undoubtedly means I'm paying France with my tax dollars for sending its soldiers to Africa to rape the women. Ugh!
Can we let Al Qaida back in the US as long as they promise to only pick on the UN ?

I wonder what percent of our taxes go to wages. Not sure but around 20% at the Federal level.

Great, kick the bastards out of our country. Let them go to france or some third world country in africa. I'm tired of supporting these a--h---s.
The UN is the biggest money drain on earth!!

We have the right man in the UN , thats for damned sure. Pretty soon I can see Kofi standing in Fat Teds office begging the Dimocrats to step in and save his ass.

"UN salaries at risk" is a good thing to me.

WAIT!! What's that sound? ... Hmmm... sounds like violins. And, WAIT!! what's that they are playing? ... Need a few more notes... OH, it's violins playing, "Cry Me A River."
Imagine that!

So why did Bubbuh put us a $ Billion in arrears to the UN.
a) So he could control it.
b) So he could force it into the "Oil for Food Scandal."

"He told a news conference that 75 percent of the world body's costs were salaries and it would have to borrow from peacekeeping funds in a complex operation that would need General Assembly approval."
Liberals all act the same, no matter where they come from.
So they are going to rob from peacekeeping funds to pay themselves. Nice, that sets a great example to the world on how things are run in that place. Too bad it will all be blamed on Pres. Bush, as usual.
I can see the media now, showing riots in Liberia because the U.N. had to pull funding from peacekeeping missions.
Evil America, we should be ashamed of ourselves......

"If in the judicious determination of the members of the United Nations they feel they are not welcome and treated with the hostly consideration that is their due, the United States strongly encourages member states to seriously consider removing themselves and this organization from the soil of the United States. We will put no impediment in your way and we will be at the dockside bidding you a farewell as you set off into the sunset."

"Maybe all those delegates should have six months in Moscow and then six months in New York, and it would give them an opportunity to see two ways of life. I think the gentleman [Charles Lichenstein] who spoke the other day had the hearty approval of most people in America in his suggestion that we werent asking anyone to leave, but if they chose to leave, good-bye."
President Ronald Reagan, 21 Sep. 1983 press conference, in response to Amb. Lichenstein's remarks.

So if their funding is cut, the worthless scumbags at the UN will still be able to take in their hefty salaries and perks by cutting operations and programs that they tell us are UN's very reason for existence. And people still don't think that the UN is nothing more than a cancerous, blood sucking parasite?
What sort of marginally sane and rational person could continue to support this disgusting stain of an organization?

Simple, make the U.N. volunteer.
To: ncountylee
Woohoo! I say let the UN fund itself. There should be plenty left over after the oil for food program. After that cash runs out, lets return to the custom of the 1700's and weigh politicians. If they gain weight over the course of a year, schedule the tar and feathering, else let them campaign for re-election.
Pay your employees, Kofi. Might have to undip the funds from your pockets first, but don't even attempt to raise my taxes to pay for bureaucrats.

The UN would have a smaller annual salary bill if it were scattered around the world. For example 20% in China, 20% in India, 20% in No. Africa, 20% in Latin America and 20%on some Pacific Island nation which would greatly reduce security costs. Such a cost reduction plan might even allow us to quit the useless organization.
